Meet Our Retreat Spiritual Director

Fr. Nathanael Block

Fr. Nathanael Block is pastor of Our Lady of the Snow Roman Catholic Church in Snowflake, Arizona and Judicial Vicar for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Gallup, New Mexico. He recently celebrated his ten-year anniversary of priestly ordination.


Meet Our Master of Ceremonies

Patrick Metts, LPC

Patrick Metts is the Associate Director of the Office of Evangelization & Discipleship in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and also possesses a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies from the John Paul II Institute. Patrick created RESTORE - a Catholic Marriage Resource for couples seeking support, growth, and healing in their relationships. He and his wife live in suburban Atlanta, and have two sons.

Meet Our Pastoral Team

Fr. Elias Dorham

Fr. Elias Dorham is pastor of St. John Chrysostom Melkite Catholic Church in Atlanta. He and his wife, Khouria Sylvia, have been married for thirty years and have ten children and three grandchildren. Fr. Dorham leads the Marriage Enrichment Program for Mount Tabor Counseling, based in Colorado.

Fr. Tim Hepburn

Fr. Tim Hepburn is pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church in Gainesville, Ga. Previously, he was Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese of Atlanta. He has served as chaplain at Emory University, Agnes Scott College, and Georgia Tech. Father was ordained in 1993, and he loves teaching, preaching, and singing!

Kevin Sevcik, LAPC

Kevin Sevcik is a bilingual Christian/Catholic counselor at Transfiguration Counseling, working at both St. Thomas More in Decatur, Ga and St. Catherine of Siena in Kennesaw, Ga. His therapeutic approach draws on parts work therapy, humanistic therapies, and other evidence based models. He has a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Divine Mercy University.


Meet Our Retreat Speakers

Dr. Felix Menéndez, JCD, STL

Dr. Felix Menendez, JCD, STL is Court Administrator and Diocesan Judge at the Metropolitan Tribunal for the Archdiocese of Atlanta.

Dr. Christine Bacon

Dr. Christine Bacon leads an international group of men and women standing for their marriage vows after separation and/or divorce. She is the author of The Super Couple: A Formula for Extreme Happiness in Marriage. A communication and relationship expert, her doctoral dissertation examined humor in marriage.

John Clark

John Clark is author of Betrayed Without a Kiss: Defending Marriage after Years of Failed Leadership in the Church, and has written prolifically for numerous Catholic publications. A graduate of Christendom College, he and his wife Lisa have nine children and live in central Florida.

Beverly Willett

Beverly Willett is a retired NYC attorney, author of Disassembly Required: A Memoir of Midlife Resurrection, and co-founder of the Coalition for Divorce Reform. Her op eds and personal essays have appeared in dozens of the nation’s leading newspapers and magazines. She writes on a variety of topics but most often about marriage, divorce, and faith. She has two daughters and now makes her home in Savannah, Georgia.

Fr. Robert Altier*

Fr. Robert Altier was ordained in 1989, and serves in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul in Minneapolis. He is the author of God’s Plan for Your Marriage: An Exploration of Holy Matrimony from Genesis to the Wedding Feast of the Lamb. Fr. Altier is known for his devotion to the Eucharist and the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Leila Miller*

Leila Miller is the author of Primal Loss: The Now-Adult Children of Divorce Speak and “Impossible” Marriages Redeemed. A resident of Phoenix, Arizona, she is wife to one, mother to eight, and grandmother to many.

*Mrs. Miller will not be joining us in person, but she will be providing us with a pre-recorded video.

How much does the retreat cost? Are scholarships available?

The cost is $35, which includes all meals, a notebook, and a rosary! We do not want financial concerns to impede your opportunity to encounter Jesus or have fellowship with other divorced and separated. Please email pmetts@archatl.com for scholarship options.

The Most Reverend John Nhàn Trần, Auxiliary Bishop of Atlanta, will preside over a Mass for separated and divorced Catholics at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, November 16 at 10 a.m. A reception with light refreshments will follow.

Tour, Vespers, Dinner

A tour will be given by Fr. Elias Dorham of his parish, St. John Chrysostom Melkite Catholic Church, on Saturday, November 16 at 4:15 p.m. After the tour, there will be Confession at 5:15 p.m., Vespers (evening prayer) at 6 p.m., and a complimentary dinner at 7 p.m.
